The practice was established in 2005 by David Just and Mark Raff. Having each spent 7 years fine tuning their skills in a large financial institution David and Mark decided it was time to strike out on their own when they realised the frustrations of product placement, commission taking and poor service were not likely to change any time soon. Their dream was to establish a boutique financial planning firm that really understood its clients needs and was able to pull together a team of experts to deliver on this.
David and Mark believed passionately in establishing lasting client relationships through superior service delivery and pro-active strategic advice – something they were able to make a standing foundation of their own company.
The office employs a 2 adviser per client policy to ensure all clients have access to quality specialised financial advice year round regardless of holidays, illness or retirement. The practice was one of the first nationally to ban all forms of investment commission from day one putting them some 7 years ahead of the eventual industry regulations.
The pair were joined in 2006 by experienced senior financial planner Barry Van Es in a moved designed to strengthen their advice capabilities in the High Net Worth client space.
As the company grew via strong referral relationships with clients and local accounting and legal firms, they commenced an internal promotional path for Susan Howard who graduated from the MLC Adviser Scholarship program in 2010. Susan was promoted to the role of Financial Adviser in 2011 bringing the total advice team numbers to 4 and office numbers as a whole to 7.
In mid-2011 founding partner Mark Raff decided to retire from the advice industry to realise his goal of spending more time with his growing children.
In late 2011 David shifted the office location from Southport to Robina, where it remains today, in order to reduce client traffic congestion and locate in a superior corporate environment.
With investment market uncertainty remaining in early 2012, the practice was fortunate to secure a partnership with another former institutionally based senior adviser, Josh Pope, who has brought to the advice team a skill set based around asset protection and retirement income generation.
The firm undertakes a biennial Client Satisfaction Survey where all clients are asked a series of service and strategy outcome related questions in an effort to critically assess the performance of the team. For 10 years running, the company has received a result in excess of 90% in response to the significant question “Would you be happy to refer your family and friends to us?”
The office looks forward to many more successful transformations as it continues to service the needs of individuals and businesses looking to grow, protect and enjoy their wealth.
